Bonnie grew up in Tennessee and spent most of her adolescence stirring up trouble with Sara. She attended SUNY Purchase and it was there that she met Sophie and Jean as well as her husband Greg. Bonnie moved to New York after college and worked her way through the entertainment industry to become a successful casting director, working closely with high-powered celebrities like Robert DeNiro and Jude Law. During her pregnancy last year, Bonnie was also busy repairing her shaky marriage after her affair with Jude Law’s attorney. Now on steady ground with Greg, Bonnie splits her time between work and raising their one-year old, Mabel.
Sophie
Sophie was born and raised in Vermont by her very liberal (i.e.hippy) parents. She met Jean in high school and they got in a moderate amount of trouble together. She went to SUNY Purchase where she majored in Photography, partied with Bonnie, and met her ex-husband James. After four years of marriage, she crashed with various friends around the city but spent most of her time sharing sublets with Sara. Professionally, her series of photos that depict the female genitalia as landscapes of the Middle East have caught the attention of many notable feminists. And her series of a pregnant and troubled Bonnie were featured at MoMA. She has also found success commercially but does not wish to advertise this as she feels it is selling out. Psychologically, she is coming to terms with being too young to be a divorcee and too old to be a starving artist. Her best friends, Bonnie, Jean and Sara are her family and her foundation. As her friends begin to spend more time with their own careers and families, Sophie finds her self searching more desperately for happiness.
Sara
Sara grew up in Buffalo, NY and her family moved to Virginia when she was 11. There she met Bonnie and the two were best friends until she ran away from home at 17 to join the "school of life", involving a lot of experimental drug use. Now sober and clean, Sara has been in New York for three years and is pursuing a BA in Writing on scholarship at NYU. She recently had her first book published but is still inexplicably broke. When not bouncing around various offices as a temp, she is a part-time theater and nightlife reviewer at an online arts review magazine. Sara is still getting over the untimely death of her beloved dog Martini, and lives in a studio in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Jean
Jean grew up in Greenwich, CT before moving to Vermont in the 9th grade where she met Sophie. After her freshman year with Sophie (and Bonnie) at SUNY Purchase, Jean transferred to Vassar College, and later to Indiana State University at Bloomington for her entirely useless Masters in Musicology. Jean originally moved to New York in August of 2005 for a job opportunity with a non-profit organization, soon to become the first of many jobs she would lose due to layoffs and bad attitude. Jean recently relocated from Murray Hill to Cobble Hill, from an unspeakably small studio to an unspeakably small one bedroom. She is currently pursuing a freelance career of bookkeeping, and trying to figure out how to make money counting other people's money. She is single. Still.
